Drama with Me2 programme was conceived with the objective of integrating participants into the expressive world of theatre.
Drama with Me2 is more than just an acting programme; it’s a comprehensive journey through social interaction, self-expression and collaborative creation. The programme also offers cognitive benefits; memorizing lines, understanding cues, and interpreting characters can enhance memory and problem-solving skills.

Learning Objectives
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in sensory experiences to help them transition from their daily routines to the focused and imaginative world of dramatic expression. By incorporating tactile elements like scarves, props, or textured fabrics, participants are encouraged to explore and interact with their environment, enhancing their ability to stay engaged and focused.
Many individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities may face challenges with verbal communication. Sensory play provides an alternative mode of expression, allowing participants to convey emotions, preferences, and comfort levels through non-verbal means. The use of props, sound cues, and visual elements creates a multi-sensory environment that encourages self-expression, fostering a sense of agency and empowerment.
Participants get to engage in purposeful movement such as mimicking gardening or shopping actions with props. This not only aids in the development and refinement of motor skills but also contributes to an increased sense of body awareness and coordination.
Participants work together to create scenes and scenarios, fostering a sense of community and shared experiences. This social interaction is crucial for developing interpersonal skills.
Participants are encouraged to practise miming to convey emotions, moods, and expressions through exaggerated movements and facial expressions. This can be particularly helpful for those who may struggle with identifying or expressing emotions verbally.
